Marjo & Timo will jump into the unknown with their new performance concept Tango Impuso where music and the movement are both created in the moment. This project is created together with two masters of music improvisation: Marko Puro & Tapani Heikinheimo.

We are very happy to announce that Kiukkarainen's new tangotheatre performance Ultimo will have its premiere in the beginning of March 2017. The ensemble of that piece will be Gonzalo Orihuela (director), Marjo (performer, musician), Timo (performer, musician), and Harri Kuusijärvi (musician).

During the next years Kiukkarainen will participate in EU funded project in collaboration with artist groups from five different countries. Check the news here.

Marjo & Timo have a one-month artistic residence in Berlin in April. During the residence Kiukkarainen starts to create new dance material, music and manuscript for their upcoming production named Ultimo.

Kiukkarainen wishes happy new year for everyone. In 2016 Kiukkarainen starts to build a new tangotheatre production. We will also work with music, perform our old pieces and give workshops. More information will be published soon!

12.11.2015 Contemporary dance festival in Russia
Kiukkarainen will take Chess Piece -performance to the 7th International Contemporary dance festival "Na Grani" organized in Yekaterinburg at 23h-29th of November.
21.9.2015 Fight Tango video shootings
Timo & Marjo are making "Fight tango" video for a Finnish accordionist Johanna Juhola's upcoming concert tour.
7.8.2015 Art Goes Kapakka -festival
Kiukkarainen will show a new short piece Angelnoche, in Art Goes Kapakka -festival on 14th of August.
6.6.2015 Our first music gig in Kuopio
Marjo has recently been translating Argentinian tangos, valses and milongas to Finnish. We had our first pure music gig with a bandoneonist Mercedes Krapovickas in Kuopio. One song from the show can be watched here.
23.4.2015 Vekara Varkaus Festival
Troll Tango has been selected as the "star guest performance" to the Vekara Varkaus Childrens Summer Festival. We are looking forward to visit Central Finland in June.
19.2.2015 Festival Cambalache in Buenos Aires
Kiukkarainen will take their performance Chess Piece to the Cambalache Festival organized in Buenos Aires at 23h-29th of March!
Year 2014
OCTOBER 21ST - BUENOS AIRES
We will spend the rest of the year 2014 in Buenos Aires by performing and studying tango. Troll Tango is performed in Teatro Picadero on 8th-9th of November and Tonttungos in local milongas.
AUGUST 22ND - CHESS PIECE IN NETHERLANDS
We will perform our duet Chess Piece at festival Spoffin in Amersfoort next week. Seven shows and two demos to go in four days!

MAY 2ND - CHESS PIECE & TANGO IN BLUE
Our new production Chess Piece has its premiere on 5th of June in Helsinki. We have invited an international group of guest artists from Buenos Aires to share an evening with us. Check the event in Facebook.
MAR 10TH - TROLL TANGO IN MALMÖ
We had a great visit in Barnen Scen, Malmö with our Troll Tango piece on 6th and 7th of March. Both the performances and our grew were very warmly welcomed by the audience and the local organizers!!
FEB 27TH 2014 - GRANT FOR MARJO
The other one of our artistic directors, M.A. (Dance) Marjo Kiukaanniemi, received a one-year grant for her artistic work from the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
JAN 20TH 2014 - THEATRE EXHIBITION IN FREIBURG
